Whispering Ridge Community School welcomes new assistant principals

This fall, Mr. Peter Bailey and Mrs. Maryanne Buck will join newly appointed principal Mrs. Abby Stilwell as Whispering Ridge Community School’s (WRCS) new leadership team.

Mr. Peter Bailey says he is excited to join the excellent learning community that WRCS has established and is eager to get to know the staff and students. Mr. Bailey, who holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Alberta, has worked in education for 13 years, spending the last eight with Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD). He began his PWPSD career teaching at Rycroft School and then moved to Robert W. Zahara School where he taught for five years. He has spent the last two years as the principal of Wembley Elementary School.

Mrs. Maryanne Buck, who has taught at WRCS since it opened in 2018, says she is grateful to be able to be a part of the school community in a leadership capacity and is looking forward to continuing to make connections with its staff, students and families. Before teaching at WRCS, Mrs. Buck taught at Penson School in Grovedale.

As she prepares for her first year in administration, Mrs. Buck says she is excited to use her leadership skills she has acquired through various roles at WRCS. “I feel extremely connected to the staff and students at our school, and am looking forward to using my leadership skills to help guide our school community together with the administrative team at WRCS.”
